What to Do f you’re on Isla Mujeres over the weekend, head to Punta Sur 30 minutes before sunrise, (a 15-minute golf cart ride from Coco B) for a breathtaking sunrise ritual on Sunday mornings. This point, 65 ft above sea level, is the first spot where the sun rises over Mexico.
The park, with a $6 USD entry fee, offers pathways lush with native plants, larger-than life statues representing Mayan culture, and a stunning statue of the Goddess Ixchel. Use the QR codes for insight into each statue. Be cautious on the pathways leading to sea level at the tip of the island, the Caribbean side can be rough and the stone pavers slippery.
